I was driving home last night with my little girl from dance class. We were just chatting; nothing big. Then she asks me, "Mommy, you believe in Jesus, right?"
"Well yes I do, Angel. I believe Jesus died for my sins and gave me a clean heart so I can go to heaven to be with Him."
"Mommy, I want to believe in Jesus, too!"
"Well Angel, if you want to, you have to pray and ask Jesus to forgive your sins and make your heart clean."
"Ok. Mommy will you pull over to a gas station and come back here with me?"
My heart was racing at this point. Here was my baby girl, through no prodding of mine, asking to make the most important decision of her life. I have never had the privilege of being present when someone made this decision, and here my Angel was about to!!
I crawled into the back and explained what it meant to ask Jesus into her heart and that it was a prayer that she had to make. I couldn't make it for her. I wish I could remember her prayer verbatim, but I'll give you as much as I can remember:
"Dear God, Thank you for my sin and thank you for taking my sin away. Please come into my heart and make my heart clean so I can be a new person and can share better and have joy in my heart. In Jesus name, Amen."
I had to fight back tears. Needless to say I am one joyful Momma! We called Grandparents and Daddy, then celebrated by getting a Frosty.
Angel also informed me that since she is a new person she also needs a new name. She thought Navi sounded nice (it's the name of the fairy in a Zelda game!). I told her we'd stick with Angel. :)
Always be ready for God to use you. God likes to be creative! If I had been too preoccupied with my day, I would have missed this precious opportunity.

I have had that same joy several times myself - with one of my children, TWICE! LOL My mom had that joy with some of my siblings and me. I try to never be too busy when my children want to discuss spiritual things. My pastor is always saying to always be ready for God to use you!
That is so awesome. Thank you for blessing all of your readers with it.
Christine, that is so awesome!
Yes, it made me cry too, but that is so great! Praise the Lord!

And I haven't gotten my present yet, not because it hasn't arrived, but sadly because I have practically lived at Starbucks these past 3 or 4 days and I haven't had a chance to go to your 'rents house to get it...but I will definitely be going tomorrow or the next day! :)
